Data Center (DC) Joint Project of East Telecom and Korea Telecom

A joint project for a technological future

In March 2023, the construction of the East Telecom Data Center began in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Data Center will be a 4-story building with an area of 6000 square meters and will accommodate over 300 racks with the latest equipment. The construction will take 14 months, and the Data Center will begin operation in April 2024.

The development of the DC project with Korea Telecom took two years, during which a pilot DC project was implemented, various customer requirements were studied, and an optimal site was acquired in Tashkent.

East Telecom's data centers will be equipped with the latest technologies, including backup power and cooling systems, enhanced security measures, and 24/7 monitoring and support. With Colocation services, customers can rent space in one of the DCs to host their own servers and equipment. This will allow customers to use the highly available infrastructure of the facility while retaining control over their own equipment and data. Colocation customers can also connect to the East Telecom network, which provides low-latency connectivity to major cloud providers, as well as other enterprises and networks.

East Telecom's data centers are designed to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes, from small businesses to large corporate customers. Flexible solutions allow customers to scale their IT infrastructure as their needs grow, without worrying about the costs and challenges of building and maintaining their own data center.

In addition to the Data Center and Colocation, East Telecom also offers a range of managed IT services, including network and security services. They are designed to help customers reduce IT expenses, improve operations, and ensure the security and availability of their data.

Confirming the growing demand for IT business in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, East Telecom will launch the most advanced Cloud Service along with the new Data Center and start the second Data Center project, which will be built near Tashkent in the near future.

Currently, East Telecom provides DC services to several large customers from the banking, fintech industry, etc. The company is also ready to cooperate with new startup projects.

The DC is a big step for the company towards DX (Digital Transformation) services in the future. Together with KT, East Telecom is planning to create a DC belt in Central Asia by building buildings in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
